Networking - Your Needs

Before installing a new or extended network there are questions that need to be asked. You need to know exactly what you want your network to achieve. Do you want faster mixed communications? Zero downtime? Is space an issue? Any omission now could cause problems with the installation and support of your network.
This could in turn result in further expenditure down the line and restrict the performance of your investment. Our expertise and experience in network design and installation mean that we can identify needs or problems you may even be unaware of at this stage. We can give you impartial and informed advice so that nay decision made is cost effective, efficient and ultimately rewarding. We will design a network based on your individual specifications, without trying to sell you any unnecessary frills or unproven technologies. You will get a network infrastructure that provides a superior solution, delivered to meet your demands, now and in the future.
NORDX/CDT is the world leader in structured cabling with more than 20,000 installations of their best-of-breed IBDN solutions throughout the world. They have long been involved in defining industry Standards and several key employees are leading authorities and participative members of all relevant Standards bodies. Unlike many of its competitors, NORDX/CDT designs and manufactures all its own components ensuring beyond-Standard systems and, uniquely, this allows them to provide a 25 year parts and labour warranty on all their installations. Total Media Communications has over 7 years? experience in the design and installation of NORDX/CDT IBDN systems, forming the infrastructure over which high-performance Gigabit networking solutions run.

The value of selecting a Standards compliant structured cabling system is clear. However, specifying Standards compliant components does not automatically guarantee that these components, once integrated end-to-end, will result in a Standards compliant system. There are a number of reasons for this, but generally speaking, Standards compliant components from different manufacturers will have performance differences, and when these are combined together, end-to-end system performance can be limited or impaired to such an extent as to be out-of-Standard.

The surest solution to this Standards conundrum is to select a structured cabling system that is composed of components that have been designed and engineered to work together as an integrated system. NORDX/CDT designs, engineers and manufactures all components of its three fully integrated end-to-end structured cabling systems, including its latest space optimised GigaBIX termination product, providing a great alternative to RJ45 patch panels where space is at a premium.

Certified for today and in the future:
The IBDN family of structured cabling systems provides a choice of three levels of system performance to best meet end users' needs; each composed of fully integrated, standards compliant products. System Certifications are provided for all IBDN Gigabit Systems. Once Certified, the IBDN Structured Cabling System will be registered and supported by the industry's most comprehensive warranty program, including a 25 year parts and labour warranty and a lifetime Application Assurance Program.

IBDN System 4800LX is the highest performance cabling system offered by NORDX/CDT, made up of state of the art cabling and connectivity components. The 4800LX cable together with the new series of IBDN PS6 modular outlets and PS6 modular cords provide unparalleled levels of headroom and end-to-end performance, 300MHz bandwidth, putting this system well beyond Category 6.

IBDN System 2400 is the leading-edge communication system from NORDX/CDT based upon Series 2400 cable and PS6 connectivity products and offering unrivalled price/performance. Delivering 250MHz of user bandwidth and support for data rates up to 2.4Gbps, System 2400 exceeds Category 6 requirements.

IBDN System 1200 is the industry leading Category 5e cabling system utilising Series 1200 cable and PS5 connectivity products. Delivering 160Mhz of bandwidth and capable of supporting data rates of up to 1.2Gbps, this system provides support for all today's broad spectrum of business applications with sufficient bandwidth for future expansion.

System Certification:
Telecommunications networks rely not only on high performance cables but also on connectivity products. Component interaction is critical and systems that are constructed by piecing together components, which have never been tested as a system, increase the chances of giving disappointing results. Telecommunications systems are as strong as their weakest link and mismatched components can be a serious issue when attempting to implement high-performance data transmission environments. Because NORDX/CDT designs its products with the intent that they will perform as part of a complete system, users can rest assured that they will be satisfied with the performance of their system. Each IBDN component is designed and tested as part of an IBDN Category 5 system. This is also the way that NORDX/CDT guarantees reliable end-to-end channel performance.

"NORDX/CDT is a leader in testing its components together, as a system. This ensures that end-to-end channel performance exceeds recognized industry standards requirements and that applications will work at optimum performance," explained Paul Kish, senior manager of IBDN systems and standards at NORDX/CDT.

25 Year Product Warranty:
The IBDN components installed in the IBDN Certified Structured Cabling System will be warranted for a period of 25 years from the date of installation against defects in materials and workmanship.

Lifetime Application Assurance Program:
The IBDN Certified Structured Cabling System is also guaranteed to support the applications for which the System was originally designed, as well as any new applications, for as long as the System is owned in its original place of installation. New applications are defined as any application introduced in the future by recognized standards organizations or user forums that use the TIA/EIA 568-B or ISO/IEC 11801 & EN50173 component and link/channel specifications for cabling.
