03 number ranges are different to that of 08 number ranges as they are charged at the same rate as 01/02 numbers. Consumer confidence therefore increases, many large organisations opting for 03 numbers as a way of improving customer services.
Being charged in accordance with 01/02 numbers they also fall into many mobile tariffs inclusive minutes, making them free to call from mobile phones.
03 numbers also allow companies to gain national presence whilst still holding a local identity. Large corporations could benefit from a more localised image rather than the perception of a big business that has lost touch with individual needs.
